Crestwood Recreation Center Celebrates Halloween with Trunk or Treat
The Crestwood Recreation and Wellness Center, a village-operated recreation center, is holding its 5th annual Trunk or Treat event to celebrate Halloween. Trunk or Treat is a recreation center event that allows kids to go from car to car in the recreation center parking lot and trick or treat the weekend before Halloween, to help ensure the kids can fill their candy bags no matter what day Halloween falls on. Trunk or Treat has been organized for the past two years by Activities Manager Julia Randich, who has seen the joy it brings kids both now and when she was younger.
“The kids definitely love [trunk or treat],” said Randich. “Kids even my age [23] still remember this event and love to see it and how it has changed over the years”
This year’s Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, October 29, and will go from 12 to 2 PM; the parking lot will be closed down for the event so kids can enjoy their candy-seeking safely. There is also no fee to attend the event for children or parents. Kids can also enter a costume contest for small prizes along with trick or treating. The costume contest will take place every hour during the event.
The event features fun for everyone attending, including those passing out candy. The best-decorated car will win a small prize that will be announced at Trunk or Treat. Interested parties can reserve spots up until Friday, October 21st.
Crestwood Recreation and Wellness Center runs numerous events for different holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
